1.1. Listing Generator: Overview

Navigation:
Listings > Prepare > New Listing
Listings > Prepare > Use a Saved Listing (edit saved listing)

Overview:
The Listing Generator is where you create your listings.

You may enter your item description, edit your profile information, and select images for your listing.

You may also upload images for your listing if you haven't already. Once your listing is completed, you may preview it, save it, prepare to launch it, or copy the listing code.

1.2. Listing Generator: Action Bar

Overview:
Scroll to the top or bottom of your screen and Save, Preview, get Code, or Prepare to Launch your listing.

How to save your listing:
Although not required, we highly recommend that you save your listings. Our system does not save listings automatically. If you begin a listing, but won't be able to finish it in one sitting, you must save it. Saved Listings are also needed in the event a listing needs to be revised at eBay or another auction site. To save your listing, click on the Save button at either the top or bottom of the Listing Generator page. Enter the name of your listing and click on the Save button. If you are editing an existing listing and wish to make a new listing out of it, click on the Save as New button within the Save menu. What this does is save another copy, keeping your original intact.

How to preview your listing:
It is recommended that you preview your listing before choosing to either Save, Prepare to Launch or copy the listing code. Click on the Preview button that appears at either the top or bottom of the Listing Generator page. The Listing Preview window will open. To close this window, click on the Close button.

How to get listing code:
If you are not listing to eBay US, AU, CA, UK, eBay Motors US or Bonanza, then you will need to get the HTML code for your listing. To do this, click on the Code button. You will be brought to the code page where you may copy your HTML code. Another reason for needing to get code is in the event a listing is already launched to eBay and it needs to be revised.

Note: You will not see the Code button if you have a token.  To turn on the option to see the code button go to Site Preferences and uncheck the option Remove 'Code' button if token exists.

How to launch your listing:
If you are listing to eBay US, AU, CA, UK, eBay Motors US or Bonanza then our system supports direct posting to these sites. There is no need to get code. Simply click on the Prepare to Launch button. You will be brought to the Listing Launcher form where you may fill out your information to either launch your listing immediately or schedule it.

How to revise your listing description:
When you prepare to launch your listing you will be taken to the launcher form. If you decide that you want to change something in your listing description, click the Edit Description button located in the Description - HTML Template section of the launcher form (just above the preview of your listing.) You will be returned to the Listing Generator to make your changes. When you have finished your changes, click on the Back to Launcher button to return to the launcher form.

1.3. Listing Generator: Listing Images

Navigation:
Listings > Prepare > New Listing
Listings > Prepare > Use a Saved Listing (edit saved listing)

How to add images from the Image Manager:
In the Listing Images area, hover over the Add button and then click on Add from Image Manager to open the Image Chooser.

You will see thumbnails of images if already uploaded. The category selector at the upper left hand corner will default to the "New Uploads" category (if you have uploaded images within the past 24 hours), otherwise, you will be in your "All Images" category. If you need to access a different category, click on the arrow next to the category and select your category. The Image Chooser will refresh and show you the images for that category. To select an image, just click on the image thumbnail and you will see a copy of it appear above.

Continue adding images by clicking on the image thumbnails. You may pick duplicate images if you wish. When you are finished adding images, click on the Close button at the upper right hand corner of the Choose Listing view.

How to swap images:
You may simply swap images (trade places). Here's how: Hold down the Shift key, click on the orange drag bar of the first image, and drag it over another image and drop it (release the mouse button). Be sure to hold down the Shift key during this process. The images will trade places.

How to replace images:
You may decide that you want to swap an image with one that is not among the rows of selected images. In this case, click on the image thumbnail of a selected image and the Image Picker will open. You will see the image you're replacing off to the left side with "Replace Image" where its drag bar normally appears. Simply click on any image thumbnail in the image picker. The image picker will close and the new image will take the place of the original image.

How to clear images:

How to select Image Layout:
The image layout controls how your images are displayed within the template. Clicking on this button will open a selector with graphical representations of the layouts. The Enlarge and Single layouts always show your images at 300 pixels wide within the template. When clicked to enlarge, your full-size image will appear. If you prefer for your full-sized images to appear with no requirement to click to enlarge, then select one of the full image layouts. The display layouts show images at 300px wide, but do not enlarge. The thumbs layouts are designed for 12 or fewer images. When you mouseover a thumbnail, an "enlargement" 300px wide is displayed.

The "EPS only" image layout can be used if you would like the images uploaded to eBay for the gallery image but do not want the images embed within the template.  This image layout is applicable to eBay Seller Profiles only.

Selecting the "EPS only" layout will not embed the images within the template but will send them to the Listing Launcher.  You may then select the eBay Picture Services check box (with or without Picture Pack), and the images will be sent to eBay.  If you don't wish to send multiple preview pictures, you may simply checkmark, "Gallery Photo & Preview Picture."

What's unique about them is that you are allowed to use your own images to create a background for the border. MIYO templates can have either single or double borders.

If you're planning on using a MIYO template, be sure you have first uploaded some images to your Image Manager. Smaller files of 400 pixels or less in width work best. 6.2. Seller Profiles: Create

Navigation:
Listings > Utilities > Seller Profiles

Overview:
Seller Profiles are used to enter standard information you would like to appear in each of your listings. A Profile decreases your listing time as this information will be inserted into each listing you create.

How to create a Seller Profile:

You have now created your Profile and will be taken back to the main Selling Profiles page.

6.3. Seller Profiles: Delete

Navigation:
Listings > Utilities > Seller Profiles

How to Delete a Seller Profile:
If you wish to delete a Seller Profile select Delete from the action menu next to the profile name. If you have any saved listing drafts using the profile you have selected you will be taken to a confirmation screen. Here you will be given the option to assign the listings using this profile to a different profile, delete the profile as well as the listing drafts that are tied to it, or you may choose to not delete the profile and leave it in your account.

If the Seller Profile you have chosen to delete is not being used in any Saved Listing Drafts you will not be taken to the confirmation page and the Profile will be immediately deleted.

Note: If you delete a Seller Profile, the listings created using the seller profile that are live on eBay will not be able to be updated as the listings are tied to the specific seller profile used when creating them. We recommend editing existing profiles instead of deleting and creating new ones unless you are certain there are no live listings attached to the seller profile.

6.4. Seller Profiles: eBay Update

Navigation:

Listings > Utilities > Seller Profiles
Select eBay update from the action menu to the right of your seller profile.

Overview:
Listings created in SSB that are on eBay US, AU, CA, UK, and eBay Motors US, can be updated with the eBay Update option. If you make changes to your seller profile, you can use eBay Update to update your listings attached to the seller profile. eBay update will update your active listings on eBay as well as your scheduled listings on SSB with the newly entered information from your seller profile. If you have multiple seller profiles then you would want to update each seller profile as the eBay update feature only updates the listings attached to the specific seller profile being updated.

Note: eBay Update may not be used to update listings that were not originally created at SSB.

Note: eBay Update will only update listings that have been indexed by eBay. We recommend waiting at least 2 hours after adding listings before updating your profile. Please also note that if you have your eBay store set to vacation, then the listings will not be updated.

How to update your listings on eBay:

A report will display showing you the status of the updates occurring. If you have a large number of listings that need to be revised the system will schedule them for revision in increments. When the revisions have completed, the system will send an e-mail to notify you.

Click Close on the upper right of the page to close this window. You will be returned to the Seller Profiles page.

Overview:
If you are listing at eBay US, UK, CA or AU then you can take advantage of our Listing Launcher which launches your listings directly to eBay. In order to use the launcher, you must first get a token for your eBay ID.

A token allows Seller Sourcebook to launch listing on your behalf without your having to reveal your eBay login information to us! If you have at least one profile for an eBay US, UK, CA, or AU ID, you will see the eBay Auction Launcher Token Management table appear just below your table of profiles.

You need get a token just once for each eBay ID. For example, if you have three different profiles for one eBay ID, you need to get your token just once. If you happen to have three eBay IDs, then you must get a token for each one.

How to get an eBay token:
Select Get a token from the action menu to the right of your seller id. You will be redirected to eBay where you will be asked to login with your eBay ID and password and give authorization for Seller Sourcebook to launch listings for you.

When you have successfully obtained your token, you will be brought back to the profiles page and an expiration date for your token will appear. When this token expires, you will have to click on the Refresh Token button.

6.11. Seller Profiles: Set a Default Template

Navigation:

Overview:
A default template may be selected for any profile. This is optional and not required.

How to select a default template:
Select the Edit action to edit the profile.

In the Seller Profiles screen, go to the Default Template field and select the template name.

Then, click the Update button.

Do this for any profile you wish to have a default template.

Note: This is for NEW listings only. If you create a listing, and then switch your profile within the Listing Generator, the profile you switch to will not carry over its default template. Your template will stay the same.

Note: In Site Preferences, if you have checkmarked, New Listing will always use last selected template, the default template specified in your profile (if there is one) is used instead.

6.12. Seller Profiles: Update Saved Listing Drafts

Checkmark the listings you wish to update, and click on the Replace Profile Info button. A menu will open. Select the profile you wish to use and then click on the Change Profile button. If you wish to update all your Saved Listing Drafts, and not just the ones you've selected, checkmark the box labeled All (not just selected) and then all of your listing drafts will be updated.

Note: When updating saved listing drafts with your new profile information, any information that was customized for this listing only will get replaced by your new profile information.

Keep in mind that any updates you make to saved listing drafts do not carry over to your live eBay listings. They also do not carry over to any listings that you have scheduled (for scheduled listings please use our eBay Profile Update feature within the profiles workspace).

Listings at eBay need to be revised individually via our Revise function, or revised through the eBay Profile Update function.
