1.2. Launch Directly to eBay US

Overview:

Once you have your token and have created your listing in the SSB Listing Generator you are now ready to schedule or launch your listing to eBay US.

How to Launch Your Listing to eBay US:

On the Action Bar (located at the top of bottom of the window based on your site preferences):

Click Estimate Fees & Finish to verify your information and eBay fees.

If you're not ready to launch yet, you may also:
Click Preview to preview your listing description.
Click Edit Description to edit the contents of your listing description. A pop-in window titled Edit Item Description will open, allowing you to make changes to the template, images, description text, etc. Click Save Changes to save your edits (or Cancel Changes to discard your edits) and return to the Listing Launcher.
Click Cancel Listing to abort the entire launch process and return to whichever page you were on before entering the Listing Launcher.

How to Launch Your Listing to eBay Motors US:

1.7. Entering Item Specifics

Overview:
eBay describes item specifics as "descriptive keywords that tell a buyer about your item. They may include brand, size, length, width, height, type, color or style and many more, and vary depending on what you're selling" (Source).

Buyers search for specific keywords to find items to purchase. The more item specifics you include with your listing, the more likely your items are to appear in search results. Some item specifics are required and are indicated by red asterisks on our Listing Launcher form. Others are optional. Please avoid entering "Does Not Apply" or a series of dashes if you do not have a value for a particular item specific. Buyers do not search for these non-values.

Some item specifics may only be given one value, such as Yes or No, or a particular size or color. Other item specifics can have more than one value. For example, clothing items may have more than one Style, Occasion, or Material. The more information you provide to your potential buyers, the easier it becomes for them to find what they're looking for.

Comparison - OLD vs. NEW Multiple Select Option Lists:

For our Advanced Lister, we are transitioning to new programming for selecting and displaying item specifics values, for item specifics where more than one choice can be made.

Previously, one needed to scroll through the available values and click on one to select it. To remove a value, you needed to click on it again. All values were shown, regardless of which were selected, but a separate checkbox could be checkmarked to "Show selected [values] only". The option to "Enter your own [value]" was a separate link. There was a problem where sometimes clicking on the scroll bar would drop a selected value.

With the new style, clicking into the text entry area displays a list of available values. Once selected, values are displayed in button-style boxes within the text entry area, each with its own "x" to remove the value if desired. Clicking into the text entry area next to the last selected value displays the list of values again. In addition to scrolling through values, one can also search for them by name. If no value is found, you may press ENTER to create and select a new one.

The new style has been implemented on the Advanced Listing Launcher form. The variations workspace and the Simple Lister form will also be updated to use it in the future.

Create Your Listing:
First create your listing in the Listing Generator and click Prepare to Launch and you will land on the Listing Launcher.

Select Listing Type and Category:
Select the Listing Type. The Fixed Price listing format is required for selling multi-quantity items, and eBay requires certain items to be listed using the catalog.

Currently the categories for eBay US are:

* GPS Systems (subcategory #139835)
* DVDs, HD DVDs & Blu-ray (subcategory #617)

Completing Your Listing

If you selected Use Title you will see that this title has replaced the title that had originally preloaded into our form from the Listing Generator. Sometimes eBay's title will exceed the 80-character limitation for a search title, and will get truncated. We suggest you review your title and make corrections.



Fill out the rest of the form and estimate fees. Required fields are indicated with asterisks, and dialog boxes will guide you to add any missing information.

Review your listing information and click the Launch Now button (or Schedule button if the scheduling option had been selected).

1.10. Multi-quantity Fixed Price Listings with Variations

Overview:
Listing variations can be used to create one listing for a product that has a choice of options. You can create a single multi-quantity fixed price listing that includes all of the variations that you offer for that product. For example, if you are selling a shirt that comes in multiple different colors and sizes you can create one listing with variations for the different options. The buyer can then select which variation they would like to purchase from the single listing.

Entering Variation Specifics

In the variations workspace, you will follow a series of steps (6 in all) to create your listing variations.

Clicking the next button at each step saves your information.

1.11. eBay Parts Compatibility (eBay Motors)

Overview:
Parts compatibility allows sellers to list their parts with more detailed compatibility information, giving buyers an easier way to find the right parts for their specific vehicle.

2.2. Bonanza Variations Listings

Overview:

Listing variations can be used to create one listing for a product that has a choice of options. You can create a single listing that includes all of the variations that you offer for that product. For example, if you are selling a shirt that comes in multiple different colors and sizes, you can create one listing with variations for the different options. The buyer can then select which variation they would like to purchase from the single listing.

On Bonanza's listing form, variations must be initiated by selecting the "Many [Trait]s" value for a trait. (For example, the trait "Color" has a value called "Many Colors".) On our form, this value is not shown an option for any traits. Instead, variations are set up directly within the Variations section of our form.

How to Create a Listing with Variations:

If the Category you select for your listing supports variations, a Variations section will appear below the Traits section on our form.

Under the Variations heading, click on the large blue plus sign (+) to set up the variations for your traits. A box containing two option lists will appear. After you select a trait from the first options list, you will be able to select its values from the second options list. As you select values, possible variations will be added to the Variations table.

Bonanza allows up to two (2) traits to be used for variations. To add another trait, click on the large blue plus sign (+) again. To remove a trait, click the red X in the top left of the box. To change a trait, simply select a different trait from the first option list. To remove a value, click the gray X to its right.

Important: You should decide which one or two traits you want to use for the Variations section before entering quantities and prices for their values. If you add, remove, or change a trait in the Variations section, quantities and prices will be cleared for all values. (Adding or removing a value, however, will not clear other information.)

Once you've selected your trait(s) and at least one value, you can start entering the quantity and price for each variation.

Quantity: Variations with a quantity of at least one (1) are "in stock" and available for purchase. Variations with a quantity of zero (0) are treated as "SOLD OUT".

Price: If you entered a base price near the top of the form, before setting up variations, that price will be pre-filled for each variation. If you did not enter a base price, the price for each variation will be listed as $0.00. Be sure to change this, as price must be greater than $0.00. If you try to launch a listing with any price set to $0.00, you will receive an error. (Note: Bonanza's form offers a special price option to separately mark an item as a "freebie". However, our form does not yet support this feature.)

Saving a variation for later: You can set a quantity of zero for variations that aren't currently in stock, but will be made available later. For example, if your shirt of Color Green will be available in Size XL, but you have not obtained or produced it yet, you can give the Green XL variation a quantity of zero, to mark it as sold out.

Removing unwanted variations: If a variation's quantity or price is left blank, that variation will not be included when the listing is launched. You can use this to drop any variations you do not offer. For example, if Color Red is not available in Size XXL, leave quantity and price blank for Red XXL, and that variation will be dropped upon launch.

UPC (optional): Many commercial items have a UPC (Universal Product Code) number. If you know the UPC for a variation, you may enter it in this field. Including a UPC is optional, as some items do not have UPC codes (e.g. handmade items, items made prior to UPCs being established, etc.). However, items without UPC codes will not be advertised by Google.

SKU (optional): A SKU (stock-keeping unit) is a code or number used to keep track of inventory. Including a SKU is optional, as not every seller keeps track of their inventory this way. If you use SKUs for your own inventory, enter the relevant SKU here.

Before you launch your listing: Review your variations to make sure you've entered quantities and prices for all variations offered. A listing can still be launched with all quantities set to zero, so be sure to set a quantity for each variation you intend to offer. When your listing is ready to launch, click Launch Now.

[ ! ] If a variation's quantity is left blank or its price is invalid, you will be shown a warning message when you try to launch your listing. In this dialog box, you may click OK to launch anyway, or CANCEL to go back and edit your listing. If a variation's quantity and/or price is left blank upon launch, that variation will be dropped from the listing.

Differences between Bonanza's listing form and ours:

On Bonanza's listing form, variations must be initiated by selecting the "Many [Trait]s" value from a trait's options list (e.g. for Color, "Many Colors"; for Size, "Many Sizes"). Then, below the traits section, you can select different values and set quantities and prices for each variation. Each variation (Red Small, Red Medium, Blue Large, etc.) must be added manually.

On SSB's Bonanza Listing Launcher form, the "Many [Trait]s" value is not present in the options list for any traits. Instead, variations are set up directly in the Variations section of the form (you select a trait, then its values). As values are selected, all possible variations are loaded automatically. Any variation not offered (e.g. if a shirt of the Color Red is not available in Size Large) can be removed upon launch by leaving its quantity and price blank.

Note: If you select a value for a trait in the Traits section, then set up variations using that trait in the Variations section, the value selected in the Traits section will be ignored in favor of the value(s) selected in the Variations section. If you set up variations first, any trait selected in the Variations section will have its option list in the Traits section disabled.
